Today, July 6th is my Auntie Kim's birthday. Has been for a while now.
We have one of "those" families. We're pretty close. I'm 29 years old and still call my aunt "Auntie". Probably will forever.
She and my mom are 13 months apart. She has two daughters, each of us 2 years apart. All three of us born on holidays. Just a few random nuggets of knowledge for you.
Growing up an only child, (yes, THAT's what is wrong with me, I know you've been wondering) Natalie and Brieann were the closest thing to sisters I had. They wore my hand-me-downs and sent the best crayola pictures to me in return. I wish upon a star I still had those drawings.
My Auntie has always been very important to me. Very.
Back before she had children of her own, when I was about a year old, she set me on a counter top and stepped away. Being a top heavy kid as most are at that age, I promptly face planted on the ground. And rug burned the end of my nose. We have photographic evidence. I looked like a puppy.
She probably cried.
The qualities and traits I love about my Auntie are many. Most of all I'm thankful that she's been my Auntie all of my 29 years.
I'm also very proud of her. A little over a week ago she completed her 1st half marathon. Way to go Auntie!
Happy Birthday, I love you!
